This Privacy Policy describes how YapaLabs("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website at https://yapapos.yapalabs.com, sign up for launch updates, or use the Yapa POS mobile application (package name: com.yapalabs.pos) once it becomes available.
We designed Yapa POS with retail operators in mind. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Launch waitlist: If you join our coming-soon list on this website, we collect your email address.
- Account information: When the app is available, you may sign in with Google. We receive information made available by Google, such as your name, email address, and profile picture, in accordance with your Google account settings.
- Business data you enter: Inventory items, barcode data, sales, receipts, and related shop records you create in the app.
- Support requests: Information you send when contacting us at [email protected].
Information collected automatically
- Device and app data: Device type, operating system version, app version, language, and general diagnostic information to keep the app reliable and secure.
- Camera (with permission): Yapa POS uses your device camera for barcode scanning. Images are processed on-device for scanning; we do not use the camera to record video or store photos unrelated to scanning.
- Local storage: Business data may be stored locally on your device to support offline use. Sync behavior, when enabled, will be described in-app.
- Website analytics: Basic usage data such as pages visited and referral source, if analytics are enabled on this site.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve Yapa POS;
- Authenticate you and secure your account;
- Process sales, inventory, and receipt features you request;
- Send launch updates and important service notices;
- Respond to support requests and protect against abuse or fraud;
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where applicable, we process personal data based on: performance of a contract (providing the app), legitimate interests (security, improvement, fraud prevention), consent (marketing emails where required), and legal obligation.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers that help us operate the app and website (for example, cloud hosting, authentication, and analytics), under contracts that require appropriate safeguards;
- Googlewhen you choose Google Sign-In, subject to Google's policies;
- Firebase / Google Cloud for authentication and backend services associated with the app;
- Legal and safety when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
5. Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Waitlist emails are retained until you unsubscribe or we no longer need them for launch communications. You may request deletion as described below.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based;
- Port your data in a machine-readable format where applicable;
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

We may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
10. Third-party links
Our website or app may link to third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the app or email where appropriate.
